Bratislava, June 25, 2025 – The Slovak technology company Enprotech Project s.r.o., operating in the fields of energy and industrial automation, has fully repaid its €3 million investment loan from Slovak Investment Holding (SIH) ahead of schedule.
The loan agreement was executed in October 2022, with disbursement occurring in November of the same year. Although initially structured as a standard ten-year investment facility, the company proceeded with full early repayment in May 2025.
EU Funding Helped Launch Seven Energy Projects
The loan was financed through the Operational Programme Quality of the Environment (OP QE) under the specific objective aimed at reducing the energy intensity of the business sector.
Funding from SIH supported the implementation of seven energy-related projects, focused on improving energy efficiency, integrating renewable energy sources, and optimizing industrial processes through automation and advanced technologies. These initiatives contributed not only to energy savings but also to enhanced environmental performance in Slovak industry.
“This loan allowed us to accelerate the development and implementation of solutions that deliver measurable benefits to both our clients and the environment,” said Miroslav Novotný, Managing Director of Enprotech Project s.r.o. “We are grateful for the trust placed in us and proud to have met our obligations responsibly and ahead of schedule.”
From Public Support to Private Financing
After successfully completing the projects and meeting its original objectives, the Enprotech Project entered a new phase of growth that required additional capital. This was secured from the commercial banking sector, including full refinancing of the SIH loan.
This development demonstrates how public funding can act as a powerful catalyst—providing the initial push that enables companies to later attract private investment.
“Enprotech Project is a textbook example of how public financing can effectively jump-start the development of innovative and sustainable solutions,” said Juraj Jusko, Director of Direct Investments at SIH. “We are pleased that our support enabled the successful execution of energy projects with a positive impact on both industry and the environment, while also helping mobilize private capital to support the company’s continued growth.”
Public Funding as a Development Catalyst
The EU-backed loan achieved its intended purpose—kickstarting energy-efficient solutions, supporting business growth, and laying the foundation for further expansion now sustained by the private banking sector.
This case exemplifies how SIH uses public resources to support innovative entrepreneurship, while helping mobilize private capital to advance sustainable development in the energy sector.
